On the 17th November 2020, Canberra played host to the RDA ACT Food in the Capital sustainable food conference program. It was the first in a 3 part series:
Three events set out to connect people from across the industry including farmers, food businesses and manufacturers, community groups, thought leaders and policy makers;
November 17 2020: Food in the Capital 1 day event, overview and tours
May 18, 2021: Food in the Capital 2 day event, Day 1 exploring urban and regional farming, logistics and social enterprises conference, followed by Day 2 rural or peri-urban tour
November 16 2021: Major food conference and exhibition
Improvements to our Food System envisaged at FIC could conservatively:

Generate up to 3,000 jobs for the local economy.

Reduce Canberran’s grocery costs by $200 million.
