OUR AUDIENCE

FOOD IN THE CAPITAL 1

Originally scheduled for April 2020,  covid created the need for Food in the Capital to be pivoted to a hybrid event offering both online and in-person participation, and was moved to November in 2020 as day 1 of a 3 day series.

Held at the ANU Kambri Centre with a live event capacity of 150, the conference sold out a week in advance and was widely applauded for its innovative approach to city-region food systems.

Guest Speakers included international expert Henry Gordon-Smith and a broad collection of industry experts from across Australia.

FOOD IN THE CAPITAL 2

As the second event in the series, Food in the Capital 2 concluded the original event series with two action packed days - a full day conference, followed by a day of either peri-urban or regional food tours.

Held at the Realm Hotel, the event again reached the venue capacity of 250 and was sold out, garnering intense interest in its focus on initiating the building of a unique city-region agrifood initiative - the Canberra Region Food Collaborative.

The event discussed the latest innovations in rural and urban farming, considered practical solutions to food production, transport and sales, and explored first hand the success stories of agrifood businesses in Canberra and its surrounding regions.
